Ralph’s World (Ralph Covert) is the mega-fun musical planet where kids rock rock rock and dance dance dance to their own and their parents’ delight. It’s the creation of Ralph Covert: indie rocker, songwriter, playwright, and children’s book author.
He’s taken the same high-energy and super-melodic sense that he developed for his touring pop-rock band to kid’s music- basically only the lyrics are changed for the ears of the innocent. His McCartneyesque style (both musically and his sense of charm) has won him hundreds of thousands of three-feet-and-under fans and their parents.
A two-time Grammy award-winning artist, recipient of the Magic Penny Award from the Children’s Music Network and an NPR commentator, Bill Harley's songs and stories paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of growing up, schooling and family life.
Home of "Zanzibar", "Monsters In The Bathroom", "50 Ways To Fool Your Mother", "You're In Trouble", "Dad Threw The TV Out The Window", "Down in the Backpack" and "The Ballad of Dirty Joe", Bill’s work spans the generation gap. Singer, storyteller, author, playwright, educator, performing artist – welcome to the world of Bill Harley – a world of wit and wisdom.
Secret Agent 23 Skidoo
After 13 years of national touring, rapping and producing with a positive hip hop band and 5 years as a loving father of a phenomenal daughter, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo combined 2 of his favorite things and created an album and stage show that brought funky beats and fresh rhymes to the youngsters, as well as bringing his wife and kid on the road and into the act.
If modern science is any guide, humans are closer to monkeys that we ever thought! In fact, we are just a few tiny chromosomes away from reverting (or perhaps advancing) to life in the trees. It is no wonder, then, that the educated trio of advanced life forms collectively known as Recess Monkey has the world going ape for their music.
Though not entirely raised in the trees, this group of (in their own words) “excitable,” “friendly,” and “charming” teachers/performers knows how to monkey around with the latest sound that always gets their audiences (usually young homo sapiens) up and swinging!
The Royal Order of Chords and Keys
Coming out of western Massachusetts, ROCK was one of the winners of a national contest for a slot on the lineup. This power trio brings real rock to the kid set. Are you prepared to rock?
Featuring veterans of the amazing Twin Cities music scene, Clementown brings a funky vibe to the poetry of Calef Brown. The band, who played a much-loved CD release party at the legendary Walker Art Center, was the other winner of our national contest for a slot.
